Photographer Rachel Shumate’s talent spans a broad spectrum, from landscape and portrait photography to fine art images. Her art pieces require a blend of camera, computer, and art skills that she has nurtured through the fine arts program at Mountain State University, numerous seminars and workshops, and as a student of photographer Steve Jessee. Shumate has won photography awards and contests from a number of organizations, including Professional Photographers of West Virginia, West Virginia South magazine, and the Princeton Camera Club. “Heat” “Shattered Memories”
Shumate photographed this old rail building in Princeton before its demise and turned some of the images into haunting digital art prints. In “Determination,” a kayaker battles Iron Ring rapid on the Gauley River. “Mystic Moonlight,” a fine-art digital image of the New River Gorge Bridge
