The West Virginia State Parks Foundation wants to see your best winter shots.
Calling all shutterbugs and state park travelers! The West Virginia State Parks Foundation has announced its Mountains Are Always Free Photo Contest, showcasing the beauty that is our state parks, forest, and rail-trails in all their winter finery.
Photographers have the chance to win in one of three categories:
- Winterscape Photos of winter scenery and nature in West Virginia State Parks areas
- Fancy Facilities Photos of special West Virginia State Parks buildings, facilities, or features decked out in winter charm
- Outdoor Recreation Winter photos of your favorite outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, fishing, and more at a West Virginia state park
The prize? Not only will the winner in each category receive a free two-night stay at one of our stunning West Virginia resort state parks—with a few extra surprises sprinkled in—but they will also find their photo featured on the West Virginia State Parks Foundation website and social media as well as in its news releases and publications.
